Mimetite - Lead Arsenate Pb5(AsO4)3Cl

Mimetite is from a World Class Chinese Location as seen in The Mineralogical Record.  The locality is near Bapu, Guangdong Province in The Peoples Republic of China.  The crystals are nothing short of spectacular.  This is our comprehensive range of the highest quality.

The largest specimen consists of bright orange highly lustrous and gemmy crystals to 11x11x10mm, averaging 8x6x6mm.  Crystals show excellent euhedral form and occur on ferruginous siltstone matrix with localised manganese-rich coatings.  Weighs 450 gr.

B6_02B.jpg Mimetite B-02: 40 x 27 x 20mm        US$575-

Bright orange extremely lustrous and gemmy crystals to 8x6x6mm are concentrated on a dark manganiferous coated siltstone fragment.  Colour is vibrant saturated orange and crystals are extremely sharp.

B6_03B.jpeg Mimetite B-03: 45 x 30 x 20mm        US$600-

Bright orange extremely lustrous and gemmy crystals to 8x7x6mm, crystals are extremely sharp. Colour is vibrant saturated orange, as for B-02 and crystals occur as a mass on ferruginous siltstone matrix.

B6_04A.jpeg Mimetite B-04: 37 x 30 x 24mm        US$450-

Bright yellow-orange gemmy transparent crystals to 7x6x5mm occur as a mass on ferruginous siltstone.  Crystals exhibit excellent lustre and hexagonal habit.

B6_05A.jpeg Mimetite B-05: 50 x 45 x 25mm        US$550-

Bright translucent to gemmy marigold yellow crystals to 10x7x5mm. Crystals occur as masses on weathered ferruginous siltstone.  Larger crystals display fine striations parallel to c-axis, which impart a silky lustre.  More transparent, smaller crystals show a high lustre.

B6_07A.jpeg Mimetite B-07: 48 x 45 x 24mm        US$425-

Butterscotch yellow-brown euhedral and very lustrous crystals to 8x6x6mm occur as masses on ferruginous siltstone. Colour not as bright as other specimens, but displays excellent crystal form and large average crystal size.

B6_08A.jpegB6_08C.jpeg Mimetite B-08: 90 x 55 x 37mm        US$1,200-

Two photos show the bright gemmy marigold yellow, highly lustrous crystals to 6x4x3mm, as dense growths across ferruginous siltstone with variable manganese coatings.  Larger crystals occur as erect sceptre like crystals.

B6_09A.jpeg Mimetite B-09: 50 x 40 x 35mm        US$325-

Bright orange crystals to 5x2x2mm occur as masses, covering the upper portion of this specimen.  Colour saturation and lustre are strongly developed.

B6_10C.jpeg Mimetite B-10: 38 x 35 x 22mm        US$225-

Bright orange crystal masses to 8x5x5mm occur as overgrowths on single larger crystals.   Lustre is excellent, particularly on larger crystals partly concealed by smaller mimetite growths.

B6_11A.jpeg Mimetite B-11: 80 x 55 x 45mm        US$450-

Bright marigold yellow, lustrous, gemmy crystals to 8x6x5mm scattered across manganese coatings on ferruginous siltstone.  Occasionally crystals show striations parallel to c-axis and have silky lustre.

B6_12A.jpeg Mimetite B-12: 58 x 45 x 30mm        US$330-

Butterscotch yellow-brown crystals to 8x8x10mm occur as lustrous well-formed hexagonal crystals on iron-rich siltstone matrix.  The largest crystals have well defined sceptred bases.

B6_13A.jpeg Mimetite B-13: 85 x 85 x 40mm        US$450-

Bright translucent marigold yellow crystals to 7x4x4mm are scattered evenly over a dark manganiferous coating on weathered siltstone.

B6_14B.jpeg Mimetite B-14: 95 x 45 x 35mm        US$500-

Bright orange gemmy crystals to 7x6x7mm are sparsely scattered across dark manganiferous and ferrous coatings on siltstone.  Crystals are both sceptred and prismatic and some crystals are completely transparent orange-yellow.  Lustre is excellent.

B6_15C.jpeg Mimetite B-15: 43 x 25 x 24mm        US$110-

Deep gemmy and highly lustrous orange-yellow crystals up to 12x5x5mm occur on weathered, manganiferous and weakly ferruginous siltstone.

Picture to be posted soon!

Mimetite B-06: 60 x 35 x 30mm        US$475-

Bright translucent marigold yellow-orange crystals to 6x6x5mm are scattered liberally and attractively across ferruginous siltstone matrix.  Localised manganese staining increases contrast on the specimen.

Don’t miss out on one of these pieces, the supply will eventually run out from The Peoples Republic of China.
